The Challenge to Change
The Challenge of Change
I finally started reading Craig Groeschel's new book, The Power to Change. I'm not very far into it, but already my mind is going crazy. He always seems to say something or view something in a way that makes me think. He talked about how we all know that we have changed in the last ten years, but we also don't believe that we have the ability to change in the next ten years. If I try and look back ten years ago, I don't even recognize that person. I don't live in the same state, my priorities are way different and even what I want to focus on is completely different. I'm hoping by the end of the book I know how to change my mindset. I want to be someone who has a successful website, blog and podcast. I want to be someone who is healthy. I want to belong to a church family that has a huge impact on the community. Who I can be in one, five or ten years is up to me. I challenge everyone to go back and look at who they were ten years ago. Here is where the biggest challenge is, I want you to only look at positive changes. I know that if we choose, we can focus on all the negative, but that's easy. Here is a list of my five biggest positive changes in the last 10 years.
Two of our kids are now married.
We have two grandkids.
We live in a different state.
We participate on Sunday mornings; we don't just show up for a sermon.
We love our wonderful, very small community.
My life is far from perfect. I have so many things that I want to improve on. I spend way too much time thinking about the negative. I'm proud of how far I have come in the last ten years. I can't wait to see where I will be in 2033! Life is hard, keep praying, read your bible and stay positive!!
